Insurance Provider Extends Existing Architecture to Include Web-based Policy Application
< Back
A large multi-state insurance provider wanted to create a web-based policy application/quote generation, payment center that was accessible by the 1500 agents that use its insurance products. The company wanted to leverage the existing infrastructure and extend the architecture with a scalable platform.
CEI provided a team of consultants that completed the first phase of the project, which included developing a scalable HTML/JSP-based application. Utilizing the MQ messaging products, the solution was integrated into client’s core claims management systems. The architecture leverages the scalability of the IBM WebSphere application server to provide online form-based applications and reporting for the insurance agents. In deploying the initial phase, several performance issues were solved by using load-testing solutions from Empirix Software in order to simulate thousands of concurrent users.
Currently, 100 insurance agents are using the production system with the remaining agents coming online over the next 6 months.
